Buy an Upright Bass
If you're a serious upright bass player, the decision to buy an
upright bass is an exciting event. Just as there are wonderfully
unique people (and that there are no two people the exact same in
the world) there is a bass that suits that person and personality.
Of the many hundreds of basses that go through the basses
for sale at the String Emporium there has never been two of
the same upright basses! To some, some may look (almost) identical,
but like the trees that they came, may look closely the same, but
can have vast personal qualities and differences.
Buy a bass that has a sound construction and workmanship. Old, doesn't
mean better made or better sounding. If a bass was made 'right'
in the beginning, with good materials and workmanship, then it will
sound good, no matter how old.
Shop around! I am sorry to say that if you buy a cheap bass (for
$600) on Ebay, you are going to be spending at least double the
price on making it then playable and in the end, no matter how much
money you sunk into that super cheap bass, it's still only going
to be a $600 bass. At the String Emporium, we take great pride in
only selling the highest quality basses for each and every price
range and for each respective price range, you will find the very
best quality upright bass. Our plywood
upright basses are unrivaled in price and quality. We have extensive
warranties that insure the bass you buy will last, keep it's value
and offer many, many years of enjoyment. For medium ranged carved
basses, the Wan-Bernadel upright basses
are legendary.
Tell us what you
play (style and genre), your price range and anything else more
personal to your playing needs and style, and we'll find the bass!
