Corelli Bass Strings

Corelli bass strings (made by the company Savarez), is a popular upright bass string for those looking for a  quality, light weight string.  These strings were really made popular by the famous French, solo bassist, Francois Rabbath and are quite different when comparing them to the other staple brands.  With these super light kind of strings, the bass is easier to play without having to push or press too much on the bow.  The strings 'speak' a little easier with the bow, because they are thinner.  Also, because of the thin string, tend to lack the projection or power of a regular type Pirastro or Thomastik string.  (Life is full of tradeoffs!) Still though, they have a huge popularity for bass players working on solo repertoire or bass recitals.
